The Wilhelmsen flag
The Wilh. Wilhelmsen group has a worldwide uniform corporate identity, uniting all the different companies in the group.
The brand is one of our most important assets. It reflects our identity both as it is perceived today and how we wish it to be perceived in the future. It is a tool to maintain our initiative and to motivate our organisation towards future success.
All the companies within the group use the Wilhelmsen flag. It is always white with a dark blue, centred 'W'.
Our funnel
The Wilh. Wilhelmsen funnel mark is two light blue bands set close together on a black funnel.
The bands have a long and proud tradition as the identifying funnel mark on our vessels going back to 1902 and therefore signify our long maritime history.
Our vessel naming tradition
Wilh. Wilhelmsen’s first steamship was named Talabot. Purchased second hand in 1887 she recorded early profits that exceeded all expectations. The result and forecast were so good that nearly every subsequent vessel acquisition has been given a name beginning with the letter “T”.
The T tradition has become synonymous with the Wilh. Wilhelmsen nomenclature. Talabot was not only a success within Wilh. Wilhelmsen; she has been long recognised as one of the pioneer vessels in the transition from sail to steam in Norwegian shipping history.
